Rawle Alkins is in the Top 30 on my draft board, but is regarded as a player who’s better off waiting for 2018 NBA Draft. In 2017, however, he could come out of college and find his place as a project player with the New York Knicks as a second-round draft pick.

The Knicks need a player who can consistently get to the rim, and during the Round of 64, Alkins proved capable of doing exactly that.

Alkins poured in 20 points, five assists, four rebounds, and one block in 32 minutes of action. He led Arizona to a 100-82 win over the North Dakota Fighting Hawks by putting forth a legitimately perfect performance.

In addition to stuffing the stat sheet, Alkins shot 8-of-8 from the field, 2-of-2 from 3-point range, 2-of-2 from the free throw line, and committed zero turnovers.

Alkins’ upside comparison is somewhere along the lines of Lance Stephenson in an Indiana Pacers jersey. He has a powerful frame and a nose for getting to the rim, as well as valuable abilities to crash the boards and facilitate in a pinch.

Alkins’ outside shot has been a revelation, as well, as has his team defense. Alkins has star potential and minimal risk attached to him.
