OG Anunoby, Indiana Hoosiers

Prior to the injury sustained by OG Anunoby, the Indiana Hoosiers were well on their way to appearing in the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Indiana was 13-6 overall and owned victories over the Kansas Jayhawks and North Carolina Tar Heels.

Though there’s an obviously different reason for Anunoby being absent from the 2017 NCAA Tournament, he’s still a top prospect who won’t be active.

Anunoby, a sophomore, was in the midst of a breakout season under Tom Crean at Indiana. He’d achieved a significant measure of notoriety during the 2016 NCAA Tournament, but he suffered a season-ending knee injury that required surgery early in 2016-17.

Despite suffering a severe injury that threatens his NBA career in its entirety, Anunoby is still regarded as a potential first-round draft pick.

The New York Knicks need a point guard, but a healthy Anunoby would be a blessing. He’s a self-motivated defender who can guard multiple positions and crash the boards—a combination of traits that New York has been sorely missing in 2016-17.

If the Knicks opt to go for an upside player who can help stabilize the defense in Round 1, then Anunoby could be the player to target.
