Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, Kansas Jayhawks

Position: Shooting Guard
Age: 19 (6/10/1997)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’8″, 191 pounds, 6’8″
2016-17 Slash Line: .425/.396/.676
2016-17 Season Averages: 27.2 MPG, 9.3 PPG, 3.1 RPG, 1.4 APG, 0.8 SPG, 1.9 3PM

The Kansas Jayhawks are the No. 1 team in the country and the primary reason why is Bill Self’s unparalleled perimeter depth. Frank Mason and Devonte’ Graham are stars at point guard, Josh Jackson is a freshman phenom, and Lagerald Vick is beginning to garner draft buzz.

One of the more underrated players on the roster is one who could be the perfect second-round selection for the New York Knicks: Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk.

Mykhailiuk has elite size for a shooting guard at 6’8″ and has one of the prettiest shots in the country. He averaged 1.1 3-point field goals made on 40.2 percent shooting in 2015-16 and is pouring in 1.9 per game on 39.6 percent shooting in 2016-17.

Other areas of his game are still a work in progress, but Mykhailiuk’s combination of size and shooting range is likely to appeal to Phil Jackson in Round 2.

Mykhailiuk has improved defensively and diversified his game to the point of being able to attack off the bounce. His skill level is diverse, however, and his performances in international competition have proven it.

Mykhailiuk is a junior at Kansas, but he’s still just 19 years of age and has upside that every team in the NBA will at least consider exploring.
