Few players have an opportunity to do more for their draft stock during March Madness than Jawun Evans. The Oklahoma State Cowboys are on the NCAA Tournament bubble and will have an immediate opportunity to make a statement with a Mar. 9 clash with the Iowa State Cyclones.

A dynamic playmaker and intriguing ball hawk, Evans could be a steal of a prospect and a March Madness hero if Oklahoma State makes the cut.

Evans is coming off of a game during which he posted 22 points, 15 assists, four rebounds, and a steal against the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks. That alone is a testament to what it is that has scouts pondering how good of a player he could become.

The fact that Evans is averaging 26.7 points, 8.7 assists, and 2.6 steals per 40 minutes is a fair indication that he has the natural ability to make an impact.

Evans, who’s projected by most as an early second-round prospect, may end up falling into the Round 2 range due to the depth in this draft class. If that proves to be the case, it would behoove the New York Knicks to be familiar with what he brings to the table.

Size is a knock against Evans, but he has the court vision, scoring instincts, and defensive tenacity to be a quality NBA player.
