The odds of Stephen Curry leaving the Golden State Warriors to play for the New York Knicks are slim to none. Curry is in a wonderful situation in Oakland, where he’s become a two-time MVP and an NBA champion—and a second ring could soon be coming his way.

For the sake of establishing the depth in the class of 2017, however, Curry is included as an available point guard in free agency.

Curry, who won the league MVP awards in both 2014-15 and 2015-16, would change the entire face of the organization. He’s a dominant scoring force who can get hot and shoot from anywhere on the court—and there isn’t much hyperbole whatsoever in that statement.

If Phil Jackson were to somehow sign Curry during the summer of 2017, all of his past transgressions would be eradicated from Knicks fans’ memories.

Curry will turn 29 years of age in March, but no one rational is questioning whether or not he’ll receive a max contract. Even as he shares touches with three other All-NBA players, he’s averaging 26.9 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.4 3-point field goals made per 36 minutes.

New York was one pick away from potentially drafting Curry in 2009. Though highly unlikely, Jackson would save the organization by signing Curry.
