4. Darren Collison, Sacramento Kings

Darren Collison may be the most well-rounded backup point guard in the NBA. He’s at least average as a 3-point shooter, pick and roll playmaker, overall facilitator, and defender, and is in his eighth year of quality NBA play.

Collison is also one of the few players whom the constantly rebuilding Sacramento Kings could get value for in a trade—and the organization is aware of it.

According to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype, the Kings are open to trading Collison if the right package presents itself.

"Sources say that the Sacramento Kings have made a number of players available in trade talks, but Darren Collison in particular seems like he could be moved."

Though Collison is exactly what the New York Knicks need on the court, he also has off-court issues that will be acknowledged.

On the court, Collison boasts career averages of 12.7 points, 4.8 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.8 3-point field goals made on a slash line of .469/.379/.852. He’s an efficient player who rarely turns the ball over and has a skill set that would fit Jeff Hornacek’s scheme well.

Perhaps most importantly, he’s a capable facilitator who has averaged upwards of 5.0 assists per 36 minutes in seven of his eight seasons.

The most intriguing development in Collison’s game is his elite efficiency from 3-point range. He’s on pace to shoot upwards of 40 percent from 3-point range for the second consecutive season and is doing so while tying a career-best average in 3-point field goals made per 36 minutes.

If the Knicks decide that trading for immediate help isn’t the answer, then Collison will be available as an unrestricted free agent this summer.
