New York Knicks Players With The Most All-Star Game Appearances
1. Patrick Ewing: 11
What more can one say about the incomparable Patrick Ewing? As if leading the New York Knicks in a vast majority of statistical categories weren’t enough, Ewing has made more All-Star Game appearances than any other player in franchise history.
Ewing is a fan favorite and an everlasting legend for reasons like this: he’s the only player who made double-digit All-Star Game appearances wearing the orange and blue.
Ewing made his first career All-Star Game appearance in 1985-86 and proceeded to make it in every season from 1987-88 to 1996-97. He was also a seven-time All-NBA honoree with a 1989-90 First Team nod, as well as a three-time All-Defensive Team selection.
Ewing finished the 1989-90 campaign with averages of 28.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game.
To date, Ewing is the only player in NBA history who has averaged at least 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks in a single season.
Ewing led New York to the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1999, and added Eastern Conference Finals appearances in 1993 and 2000. No Knicks team has been back to the Eastern Conference Finals since Ewing’s final season with the Knicks in 1999-2000.
If that isn’t enough to make you appreciate Ewing for the legend he is, try the fact that he’s the Knicks’ all-time leader in points, rebounds, blocks, steals, games, minutes, field goals made, free throws made—the list goes on for quite some time.
