T-3. Harry Gallatin: 7

Harry Gallatin is often regarded as the NBA’s original ironman. Nicknamed The Horse, Gallatin played in an incredible streak of 610 consecutive games—a New York Knicks record that still stands to this day.

A Hall of Fame center who overcame his undersized stature by working relentlessly down low, Gallatin ties Walt Frazier for the third-most All-Star Game appearances in franchise history.

Gallatin played for the Knicks from 1948 until 1957 and made seven consecutive All-Star Game appearances during a memorable stretch of his tenure. He was also named to the All-NBA First Team in 1953-54 and the All-NBA Second Team in 1954-55.

Gallatin led the NBA in rebounding in 1953-54, which means he out-rebounded the great George Mikan despite giving up roughly four inches in height.

Much like Frazier, Gallatin’s resume is rounded out by his enticing success in the postseason. He led the Knicks to three consecutive NBA Finals appearances and averaged a career double-double during the playoffs.

Gallatin helped create the Knicks’ identity as a blue collar player who left it all on the court. Decades later, that’s still what fans expect from New York.
