Forget about the Carmelo Anthony trade rumors for a moment. Which high-profile trade options should the New York Knicks be keeping an eye on?

The New York Knicks are approaching a date that will forever alter the trajectory of the organization. The 2017 NBA trade deadline is approaching and a number of high-profile players could be on the move.

With the Carmelo Anthony trade rumors being discussed ad nauseam, a rational question has since beckoned: who are the other 29 teams looking to trade?

Not every team will execute a trade; moreover, not every team is even considering doing so. There are a select few organizations that are likely to be interested in getting something done, however, and New York should be aware of what they’re going to do.

That’s become especially true given the surprising emergence of trade rumors surrounding five of the more recognizable players in the NBA.

An All-NBA center, a Sixth Man of the Year, a recent Top 3 draft pick, a defensive stalwart, and a polarizing point guard have all hit the market. Some may be realistically attainable for the Knicks, while others must be monitored to properly gauge the course of the Eastern Conference.

The question is: who are the high-profile players who have hit the trade market and why should this either interest or concern the New York Knicks?
