5. Mindaugas Kuzminskas Is A Stud

Jeff Hornacek told reporters that he needed to find someone to play defense. Against the Milwaukee Bucks, Mindaugas Kuzminskas proved how valuable defensive intensity can be, even if it isn’t from an elite defender.

Kuzminsas’ energy on defense was rewarded with touches on offense—touches that he made the most of on a career night.

Kuzminskas finished with a career-high 15 points, four rebounds, two offensive rebounds, one assists, two steals, and one block in 19 minutes of action. He shot 6-of-10 from the field, 2-of-5 from 3-point range, and 1-of-2 from the free throw line.

All in all, it was a magnificent performance by the rookie small forward in a game that his impact was desperately needed.

Kuzminskas has been shooting well in recent games, but minutes have been tough to come by because of his inconsistent defense. The fact that he came out and played at a high level on both ends of the floor bodes well for both his role and the Knicks.

It was a beautiful performance by Cheese on a night when his presence was nothing short of invaluable.
