New York Knicks: Who Stepped Up Against The Minnesota Timberwolves?
Justin Holiday
The New York Knicks were down two starters against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, December 2. It was Justin Holiday who replaced Courtney Lee as the starting shooting guard—a role he filled quite well.
It wasn’t the most efficient shooting performance of his career, but Holiday played an excellent game against the Timberwolves.
Holiday picked up 13 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and a block in 31 minutes of action. He shot 3-of-9 from the field, was 2-of-6 from beyond the arc, and went a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line.
With a +/- of +16 in a four-point win and did an outstanding job of defending a rising star in small forward Andrew Wiggins.
The Knicks are better when they have the balance of Holiday and Lee, but it’s encouraging to know that the 27-year-old can step up in a bind. His defensive intensity and energy as a rebounder are invaluable to the Knicks’ success.
It was a tough situation for Holiday to enter, but he stepped up on both ends of the floor to help the Knicks achieve victory.
