Kristaps Porzingis

Karl-Anthony Towns may have put forth an all-time performance, but don’t sleep on how well Kristaps Porzingis played. He was the best offensive player for the New York Knicks and the only line of resistance at the rim.

Matched up against one of the best young players in the NBA, the Knicks phenom stepped up and held his own.

Porzingis finished the clash with Towns with 29 points, eight rebounds, three offensive boards, four assists, and two blocks in 39 minutes. He shot 11-of-20 from the field, 3-of-7 from 3-point range, and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.

Towns had one of the most statistically prolific games imaginable, but Porzingis stepped up with a strong showing that perfectly fit the rhythm of the game.

Mike Breen put it simply during the broadcast on MSG: “Good things happen when the ball is in his hands.” Porzingis may not always shoot well, but he makes the right decisions and is constantly learning new ways to overcome the opposition.

On a night where he could’ve been mentally overwhelmed by Towns’ extraordinary showing, Porzingis had an outstanding performance.
