Derrick Rose

The New York Knicks have learned what Chicago Bulls fans have long been aware of: Derrick Rose is clutch. For the second consecutive game, he hit a crucial midrange jump shot during the final minute of regulation.

Even without the clutch heroics, Rose would’ve deserved to make this list for his explosiveness and invaluable facilitating.

Rose recorded 16 points, five assists, three rebounds, two offensive boards, one block, and a steal in 38 minutes. He shot 6-of-13 from the field, went 4-of-5 from the free throw line, and had a +/- of +7 during the Knicks’ two-point win.

Far bigger than the numbers was the speed, explosiveness, and physicality that Rose brought to what was a brutal game on both ends.

Not only did Rose step up on the offensive end of the floor in the clutch, but he was exceptional on defense, as well. He blocked Kemba Walker’s attempt at a game-tying shot and did an outstanding job of closing out on Walker’s jump shot.

Rose’s ability to create penetration and finish at the rim has transformed the Knicks’ offense from slow and stagnant to fast and explosive.
