New York Knicks: Players Who Stepped Up Against The Chicago Bulls
Derrick Rose
The New York Knicks didn’t know what to expect from Derrick Rose after the tumultuous end to his Chicago Bulls career. Matched up against the Bulls, Rose silenced the critics who appropriately criticized his inconsistency as a facilitator.
Matched up against his former team, Derrick Rose stepped up with a massive double-double that helped anchor the Knicks’ performance.
Rose went to war with the team that he played his first eight years with. He finished with 15 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds, one block, and a steal in 38 minutes for a near triple-double in the face of adversity.
Rose finished the night with shooting marks of 6-of-16 from the field and 3-of-3 from the free throw line—numbers that aren’t as important as they seem.
Rose may not have shot very well, but he was nothing short of exceptional against the Bulls. He facilitated the offense, made crucial shots throughout the game and stepped up in the clutch for the Knicks.
This was Rose’s first double-double since he had 18 points and 10 assists against the Minnesota Timberwolves on February 6, 2016.
