1. New York Is Building Team Chemistry
If there’s only one rational takeaway to be made from the victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, it’s that the New York Knicks are developing team chemistry. After struggling during the second half of the 117-88 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York came back and played as one.
With a selfless mentality and an unbreakable will to create positive results, New York earned its first home victory of the 2016-17 regular season.
The prime example of this truth is Carmelo Anthony, whose form of winning basketball has long been scoring at a high level. During the Knicks’ victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, however, he proved that he can win in other ways.
Anthony overcame a poor shooting performance by stepping up in other areas of the game with five assists and tremendous tenacity on defense and the offensive glass.
Beyond any one individual player was the trust that the Knicks’ players seemed to share with one another. Whether it was selfless offense or committed defense, the Knicks played as a team from start to finish.
It wasn’t just a 111-104 victory over a postseason-caliber opponent; it was a team effort that proved what New York can achieve when working as one.
