New York Knicks: Players Who Stood Out Against Memphis Grizzlies
Kristaps Porzingis
As Marc Gasol flashed his polished offensive game for the Memphis Grizzlies, Kristaps Porzingis did the same for the New York Knicks. Though he’s not as far along in his development, Porzingis still managed to score with a bevy of moves and tantalizing skills.
Whether he was taking a feed or creating his own shot, Porzingis was able to help anchor the Knicks’ offensive attack as a scorer.
Porzingis scored a game-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and 6-of-8 shooting from the charity stripe. He tallied five rebounds, two assists, one block, and a 3-point field goal made, as well.
Whether it was a gigantic Euro step on the fast break or a smooth post move in the half court, Porzingis consistently found ways to bring Madison Square Garden to its feet.
The most impressive aspect of Porzingis’ game was his ability to find the bottom of net when shooting on the move. Whether he was working the pick and roll or finishing in transition, he didn’t need to find his balance to be able to shoot with impossibly solid form.
Porzingis has been a source of optimism throughout his brief Knicks tenure, and his performance against the Grizzlies offered further reason to be intrigued.
