Kyle O’Quinn

The New York Knicks aren’t always able to rely on Kyle O’Quinn for quality contributions off the bench. As the stars of the second unit continued to struggle to find their shot, however, O’Quinn stepped up with a productive offensive outing in the home opener.

O’Quinn stepped up as a scorer and rebounder, and even made a series of quality defensive plays to exemplify his increased effort and energy.

O’Quinn played 19 minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies. During his time on the court, he recorded 11 points, six rebounds, two offensive boards, and a pair of assists on 3-of-5 shooting from the field and 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.

Most of O’Quinn’s offense came during a stretch when New York had gone cold as a team, which is why he undoubtedly deserves to make this list.

O’Quinn is an excellent rebounder and passer who can score from 20 feet and within. His defensive tenacity has been the reason for his inconsistent minutes, however, and he hasn’t yet pulled himself out of the proverbial dog house as far as that’s concerned.

If his performance against the Grizzlies is setting the tone for his season, however, O’Quinn will have a very strong year in 2016-17.
