The New York Knicks opened the 2016-17 NBA regular season with a 117-88 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was a disappointing result for a Knicks team that has as much raw talent as any team in the Eastern Conference.

During the regular season home opener against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Knicks weathered the storm with an encouraging 111-104 victory.

New York had something to prove following the 29-point loss to the Cavaliers on opening night. Jeff Hornacek had his players clicking on all cylinders, with New York scoring 57 points in the first half alone.

Matched up against an All-NBA First Team center and a talented, albeit injury-depleted supporting cast, the Knicks received invaluable performances.

It was a complete team effort for the Knicks, which persevered for a confidence-boosting win. It was an impressive showing on both ends of the floor, as New York managed to outgun a postseason-caliber opponent.
