The 2016 NBA preseason was a resounding success for the New York Knicks. Despite playing five games without Derrick Rose and three without Joakim Noah, New York banded together and won four of the six games it played.

On Tuesday, October 25, the Knicks will move on to the games that actually count against the standings: the 2016-17 NBA regular season.

The Knicks will open the 2016-17 regular season with a road game against the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers. The title-hungry Knicks will watch the Cavaliers get their rings and celebrate what New York aspires to achieve.

Emotions will be running wild on both sides, which creates the perfect environment for the Knicks to pull out an early signature win.

Defeating Cleveland clearly won’t be an easy task. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, and Tristan Thompson are four of the best players in the NBA, and the Cavaliers have made back-to-back NBA Finals appearances.

The question is: what must the Knicks do in order to defeat the defending NBA champions in the first game of the 2016-17 NBA regular season?
