Carmelo Anthony
Carmelo Anthony is being trusted to lead the New York Knicks to the 2017 NBA Playoffs. Though he’s committed to becoming a more well-rounded player, the best way that Anthony knows how to lead is by example.
The example that Anthony has set has often been through his scoring, which is why it’s so encouraging to see him making shots at a star-caliber rate.
Anthony played 30 minutes in the preseason finale, which is reason enough to be intrigued. He scored 21 points during his time on the court, converting three 3-point field goals and getting to the line for a pair of free throws.
Anthony also tallied four rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a display of his ability to balance high-octane scoring with an all-around game.
Anthony finished with a +/- of +13, which was the second-best mark of any player on either side. After resting on Wednesday, he came out with a fire and a passion that the Knicks will need to see from him on a nightly basis in 2016-17.
As his days with Team USA so thoroughly established, Anthony can feast when given catch-and-shoot opportunities. The Brooklyn game proved the same.
