Justin Holiday

Following the first three games of the 2016 NBA preseason, Justin Holiday appeared to be in danger of losing his backup job to Ron Baker. Baker hasn’t slowed down, but Holiday has picked his play up over the course of the past two games.

Holiday got the job done on both ends against the Boston Celtics, recording double-digit points and tormenting the Beantown rivals defensively.

Holiday bounced back on Saturday, October 15, recording 13 points, five assists, and four rebounds in 24 minutes. He continued his success on Wednesday, October 19 with 11 points, two rebounds, one assist, and three steals in 15 minutes.

He shot 3-of-6 from the field, 1-of-2 from beyond the arc, and got to the line often enough to shoot 4-of-6 from the free throw line.

Holiday’s value is as a 3-and-D contributor, but he’s showed the ability to consistently attack the basket. He can take his man off the bounce and use his size and length to either get a shot off from midrange or finish in traffic.

Holiday is proving to be a more complete offensive player than he’s been given credit for.
