The New York Knicks are preparing for what projects to be a revitalizing season. Having spent the past three years on the outside of the NBA Playoffs, the Knicks are in desperate pursuit of a way to end the drought.

If the Knicks’ recent open practice is a sign of things to come, then New York could have help from a number of fresh faces in 2016-17.

Madison Square Garden was flush with passionate fans hoping to support their team and gain insight into the practice process. It was an eye-opening experience that brought the fans closer to the players they support.

Joakim Noah highlighted the tone of the day before the open practice began with the following quote:

"“It’s preseason, but we’re getting ready for a hell of a year.”"

Knicks fans are ready.

Kristaps Porzingis and Chasson Randle rested during the open practice due to injury. The rest of the players were active and participating, however, and a number of key assets showed out in front of the home crowd.

It may or may not be an influential factor in the future of the roster, but the Knicks certainly have players worth deeply evaluating.

A fan favorite put on a show for Knicks fans with his crafty and heads up playmaking. Other players began to earn that same distinction by excelling in front of the home crowd.
