De’Aaron Fox

Position: Point Guard
Age: 18 (12/20/1997)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’3.25″, 185 pounds, 6’4.5″
Standing Reach: 8’3″
Max Vertical Leap: 38.5″

Perhaps the most intriguing player on the Kentucky Wildcats is point guard De’Aaron Fox. The southpaw is one of the most explosive athletes in the country, which has inevitably created an athletic parallel between he and two former Kentucky point guards.

Fox has the speed, agility, and leaping ability comparable to Eric Bledsoe and John Wall, and instincts as a scorer that few can match

Fox’s wingspan isn’t exactly overwhelming, but he has active hands and a respectable standing reach. He also has a 38.5″ max vertical leap, a devastating crossover, and the speed and agility to turn the corner.

Fox has the tools to excel as a southpaw pick-and-roll playmaker, which makes him an ideal target for Jeff Hornacek’s offense.

It’s entirely possible that Fox will be a Top 10 draft pick, but this is a deep class of point guards. He can be expected to thrive in Lexington, but on the off chance that he underwhelms, his upside would still be worth exploring.

The New York Knicks need a point guard for the future and there aren’t many better in the 2017 NBA Draft than Fox. He just isn’t likely to be available.
