Bam Adebayo

Position: Forward/Center
Age: 19 (7/18/1997)
Height, Weight, Wingspan: 6’10”, 258 pounds, 7’1.5″
Standing Reach: 9’0″
Max Vertical Leap: 39.5″

If the New York Knicks somehow manage to land Bam Adebayo, there’d be reason for both intrigue and disappointment. The disappointment would be in the fact that the Knicks would need to miss the playoffs and land a Top 5-to-10 pick in order to land Adebayo.

The intrigue would be in the fact that Adebayo is—on upside—a cross between Dwight Howard and Paul Millsap.

Adebayo is a 6’10” and 258-pound powerhouse with a near 7’2″ wingspan, a 9’0″ standing reach, and a 39.5″ vertical. His combination of pure strength and explosive athleticism gives him the instant potential to be a force to be reckoned with in the NBA.

The fact that Adebayo can put the ball on the floor, shoot from midrange, and position himself for offensive rebounds creates genuine superstar potential.

Adebayo’s physical gifts enable him to play either power forward or center—especially in the modern NBA. He can switch on the pick and roll, score from the same play, and create his own offense at a respectable level for a 19-year-old big man.

The Knicks don’t need a big man with Joakim Noah and Willy Hernangomez on the roster, but if the 2016-17 season is a disaster, then pairing Adebayo with Kristaps Porzingis would be one heck of a consolation prize.
