Derrick Rose

One of the recipes for drafting a successful fantasy team is to target sleepers. I do believe Derrick Rose holds the position of being one of those sleepers in fantasy.

Everyone knows that Rose is looking for a bounce back season during the final year of his contract. He hopes to prove to the league that he’s still one of the elite point guards in the NBA.

Having such intentions would make Rose an interesting player to draft come draft day. In terms of fantasy basketball (head to head categories), Rose is a steady source of points, assists, 3-point field goals made, and steals.

The only drawback of having Rose on your Roster is his inability to stay on the court for a consistent amount of time. Believe me, I had Rose on my team for fantasy basketball last season.

He was a solid player to have when he was able to play. However, I suffered when he was injured.

Drafting Rose too early in the draft may not be the greatest thing to do because of his susceptibility to injury. There may be better point guards to choose from early on in the draft (ex: John Wall, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, and so forth).

Rose finished the 2015-16 season on a strong note, however, and hopes to pick up where he left off. Rose is worth drafting in eight-team leagues or greater.
