The 2016-17 NBA regular season is shaping up to be one of the most promising in franchise history. Though the Golden State Warriors have built a super team of unprecedented star power, the New York Knicks have powerful aspirations.

Though the stars are going to receive the lion’s share of the praise, there are a number of factors that must work in the Knicks’ favor.

Team president Phil Jackson made a number of high-profile moves during the summer of 2016. With Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis already on the roster, he acquired the likes of Courtney Lee, Joakim Noah, and Derrick Rose.

Though they’re the big names, the Knicks have a number of less notorious players who will determine the outcome of this season.

In some instances, it’s one of those under the radar contributors who needs to consistently step up in 2016-17. In others, it’s an established player who must prove himself in a way he hasn’t recently succeeded in doing so.

The question is: who will the X-Factors be for the Knicks during the 2016-17 NBA regular season?
