3. Natural Progression

The New York Knicks have entrusted the future of the organization to Kristaps Porzingis. He looked the part of a future franchise player as a rookie, which brings us to another reason the Knicks will make the playoffs.

If everything else holds together, the Knicks will be able to rely upon a stronger, wiser, more polished, and more experienced Porzingis in 2016-17.

Porzingis was a unanimous selection to the 2016 All-Rookie First Team. He became the first rookie in NBA history to record at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 100 blocks, and 75 3-point field goals made.

If Porzingis can merely improve his efficiency and lower body strength, he should have an even better season in 2016-17.

Porzingis will have an easier time scoring under head coach Jeff Hornacek. Hornacek will give him shots within the flow of the offense as the point guards create penetration and collapse the defense.

If Porzingis continues to build up his lower and upper body strength, he should see more touches in the post, as well.
