1. Work Ethic

Generally speaking, when an undersized player achieves success, they’ve worked hard to get to where they are. They may or may not play the game the right way, but they’ve put the time in to be more than just a natural talent.

Chaz Williams has an unsatisfiable hunger for greatness.

"“I just want to get better every day. I don’t care how it is. Whether I’m on the bench learning from veteran guys or on the floor learning through experience. Just the experience to learn and become a better player and better person is all I’m looking for. It’d be a great opportunity to learn from the coaching staff and once I’m there, they’ll see; I’ll make the most of my opportunity to be there.”"

Williams’ work ethic and discipline were on full display at the 2016 RBA Showcase, when he completely upstaged the other undersized point guard.

The other sub-6’0″ point guard was just as talented. He had an arsenal of offensive moves that included a gorgeous floater, smooth midrange game, and tight handles.

While said player consistently stopped the ball and went into isolation, Williams selflessly set his teammates up and kept the ball moving.

Between games, Williams was asking other players to teach him how they did whatever it was that worked for them. Minutes later, he’d be practicing that same move on one of the courts that weren’t in use.

While others spent time talking to their girlfriends between games, Williams was a sponge who sought out ways to get better.

All Williams wants is a chance. The Westchester Knicks could reap the benefits of providing it.
