The New York Knicks have embraced the value of the NBA D-League. The obvious reference point is the acquisition of Jeremy Lin, but it’s since carried over into multiple endeavors, including the signing of Langston Galloway.

Thus, with all but one main roster spot filled, it’s time for the Knicks to target potential standouts for the D-League roster.

At the 2016 RBA Showcase, few players were as impressive as former UMass Minutemen point guard Chaz Williams. The 5’9″ playmaker took control of both games he played by pacing his team to a pair of victories.

With his brilliant passing, improved jump shot, and all-around leadership, Williams set the tone for his talented team.

For the Westchester Knicks, Williams could be the perfect addition for the 2016-17 season. He’d provide traits that would not only help Westchester in the short-term, but could potentially be put to use on the main roster.

Undersized point guards are still overlooked to some extent, but Williams could be a true diamond in the rough.
