The New York Knicks shouldn’t be afraid to fuse FIBA Carmelo Anthony with NBA Carmelo Anthony. The results with Team USA speak for themselves.

There’s a working theory in basketball circles that Carmelo Anthony is two different players. The NBA version of Anthony has already punched his ticket to the Hall of Fame, but the FIBA version of Anthony is an entirely different animal.

At the struggle that’s been the 2016 Summer Olympics, Team USA has created the blueprint for how the New York Knicks can best combine those two players.

Team USA isn’t blowing teams out in the manner that most expected them to. It was tied with Venezuela after the first quarter of what seemed like an easy game, barely escaped Australia, and survived a scare against Serbia 94-91.

The common thread in those games has been Anthony stepping up to save the Americans from disaster.

Anthony recently became the all-time leading scorer in USA Basketball Olympic history. He’s one run away from becoming the first male basketball player in Olympic history to win three gold medals.

The question is: how can the Knicks best fuse FIBA Anthony with NBA Anthony?
