4. Offensive Versatility

The New York Knicks have made a massive upgrade at point guard. Though Jose Calderon was an outstanding shooter and Jerian Grant has upside, Derrick Rose and Brandon Jennings are superior all-around talents in the present day.

As it pertains to facilitating, however, neither Rose nor Jennings is guaranteed to provide the necessary impact.

Tokoto isn’t much of a shooter, but he does virtually everything else at a relatively high level offensively. He moves well without the ball, knows how to work the baseline, fills the lane in transition, and easily plays above the rim.

Perhaps most importantly, Tokoto is a solid facilitator who can help keep the ball moving offensively.

Rose is a very capable passer, but he falls in love with jump passes that often lead to turnovers. Jennings is actually a very underrated passer who has never in seven seasons averaged 3.0 turnovers or more per game.

Considering Jeff Hornacek played in and coached offenses that utilized multiple playmakers, Tokoto could fit right in as a penetrating facilitator.
