Amar’e Stoudemire: Top 5 Moments With New York Knicks
4. The Philly Clinic
Few players have ever been as dominant as Amar’e Stoudemire was on February 6, 2011. With the New York Knicks endured a stretch of nine losses in 12 games, Stoudemire took it upon himself to end the inconsistency.
Matched up against the division rival Philadelphia 76ers, Stoudemire put forth his best game in a Knicks uniform.
Stoudemire was nearly flawless. He finished with 41 points, seven rebounds, four offensive rebounds, four assists, four blocks, and one steal on 17-of-21 shooting from the field and 7-of-7 shooting from the free throw line in a 117-103 victory.
If those numbers look like they were all-time spectacular, it’s likely because they were all-time spectacular.
There’s a short list of players who have scored at least 40 points on 80 percent shooting or better from the field and perfect 100 percent shooting from the free throw line. Stoudemire was the first to do it since both he and Chris Bosh hit those marks in 2008.
Before Bosh and Stoudemire, it hadn’t been done by any player since 1995. Enough said.
