The New York Knicks are utilizing the 2016 offseason as a platform for developing chemistry. Mere weeks removed from being signed in free agency, the recent acquisitions are already joining forces with the incumbent stars for workouts and training opportunities.

No matter what those players manage to do, however the immediate future of Knicks basketball rests squarely on the shoulders of Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony is one of the most decorated players in NBA history. He’s a nine-time All-Star with six All-NBA team selections, a scoring title, and a ranking of No. 29 all-time with 22,497 career points scored.

Anthony is also No. 13 in NBA history in career scoring average, which comes with a healthy 13-year sample sample size.

As the Knicks’ reloaded roster forms around him, Anthony must prove that he’s still a superstar. He hasn’t made the playoffs since 2013, and that’s a truth that bothers no one more than Anthony himself.

Fortunately for the Knicks, good things tend to happen in the NBA when Anthony plays for Team USA. Let’s recap.
