4. Accountability In Practice

When it comes to end-of-the-rotation acquisitions, players are too often written off as irrelevant. Though they may not see the court very often during games, they play an invaluable role in practice.

Allen Iverson may have an iconic rant about why practice doesn’t matter, but in actuality, it matters quite a lot.

The brilliance of the Vujacic signing is that it holds players accountable. That applies to no player more than Justin Hoilday, whom many pegged as the backup shooting guard after he was acquired in the Derrick Rose.

If Holiday’s energy or effort slips, then Vujacic can steal minutes from him as the workhorse that he’s always been.

For Courtney Lee, no practice will be easy if Vujacic is on the other end contesting him. He’ll push Lee to become more consistent offensively, and will help him stay ready for the lethal shooters that are spread across the NBA.

Practice may be frowned upon by those who religiously replay Iverson’s rant, but Vujacic is the type of player whose mere presence pushes his teammates.
