5. Triangle Experience

The New York Knicks have finally adapted to the modern standards of offensive execution. For instance, new head coach Jeff Hornacek plans to push the pace and embrace the 3-point shot as a valuable tool.

There will still be elements of the Triangle Offense, however, and that makes veteran Sasha Vujacic a wise addition.

As previously alluded to, Vujacic won a pair of championships as a reserve for the Los Angeles Lakers. That includes 2010, when he made critical free throws down the stretch of the deciding Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

During that time, then head coach Phil Jackson ran the Triangle Offense—an obvious connection to New York considering Jackson is now team president of the Knicks.

Though there are some returning players, Vujacic will be the only guard who played for the Knicks in 2015-16. That makes him a valuable veteran presence, as he can teach the likes of Courtney Lee and Justin Holiday how to play their roles in the system.

Not everything is about production in the NBA; veterans who ride the pine can be invaluable to team chemistry and execution.
