Pro: Passing

There are few players more valuable to a team’s offensive rhythm than big men who can pass. There are also few players more rare in the modern NBA than big men who can pass, which makes Joakim Noah an ideal target.

If the New York Knicks are to run an offense with Triangle elements, then adding Noah to the high post would be a wise endeavor.

Over the past four seasons, Noah has accumulated averages of 4.6 assists per game and 5.1 per 36 minutes. Even in 2015-16, which was a down season, he tallied marks of 3.8 assists per game and 6.2 assists per 36 minutes.

Simply put, Noah is an outstanding passer who can contribute the type of production and selflessness that teams require in order to succeed.

Noah won’t solve the Knicks’ need for a genuine facilitator to help fuel the offense. He and Derrick Rose have proven capable of playing off of each other as distributing playmakers, however, and Carmelo Anthony has proven more willing as a passer.

Big men who can pass tend to thrive in the Triangle Offense, and Noah could be the next in line.
