Honorable Mentions

Leandro Barbosa, Unrestricte Free Agent

  • Leandro Barbosa proved throughout the 2016 NBA Finals that he still has something left in the tank. Still in possession of elite speed and quickness in the open court, Barbosa can get to the rim and finish with creativity. He’s also a competent 3-point shooter who can’t be left open. Seeing as he hasn’t started double-digit games since 2008-09, however, it’s safe to say he’d be better coming off the second unit.

Allen Crabbe, Restricted Free Agent

  • If the Portland Trail Blazers let Allen Crabbe walk, then it’d behoove the New York Knicks to sign him to a multi-year deal. There’s raw upside to explore, and that should be enough to pique any team’s interest. An outstanding 3-point shooter with defensive potential, Crabbe should be available for an affordable price. Promising as he may be, it’d simply be risky business to invest in him as the full-time starter with the postseason in sight.

Gerald Green Unrestricted Free Agent

  • In two seasons under Jeff Hornacek, Gerald Green averaged 14.0 points and 2.2 3-point field goals made on 38.0 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Hornacek, of course, is now the head coach of the New York Knicks. He and Green clashed during their final season together, but if fences can be mended, this could be a prosperous reunion. Athleticism and shooting range is a deadly combination.
