Con: Injury History

The single most prominent factor on this list is the extensive number of injuries Derrick Rose has endured. Even before tearing his ACL in 2012, he’d been battling a rush of leg-related injuries throughout the regular season.

If the New York Knicks were to trade for Rose, then it’d be doing so with the knowledge that he’s played more than 51 games just once since 2010-11.

Rose, 27, played in 81 of a possible 82 games during his MVP season in 2010-11. Since then, he’s missed at least 16 games in five consecutive seasons, including 27 or more in four of those five years.

That also includes 2012-13, when he didn’t play a single game, and 2013-14, when he made just 10 appearances.

The encouraging news is that Rose has made significant improvements over the past two seasons. After playing in 51 games in 2014-15, he appeared in 66 of 82 games during the 2015-16 campaign.

Nevertheless, a player with Rose’s injury history is tough to justify mortgaging the house on.
