The New York Knicks have already built a balanced and defensively elite interior. Kristaps Porzingis and Robin Lopez are skilled offensive players who, defensively, led the Knicks to a No. 1 ranking in defensive field goal percentage at the rim.

Adding Joel Bolomboy to the mix would be the perfect way to round out what could be an elite two-way interior.

Bolomboy is one of the best athletes in the 2016 NBA Draft. Standing at 6’9″ and 224 pounds with a 7’1.75″ wingspan, Bolomboy recorded a 40.5″ max vertical leap at the 2016 NBA Draft Combine.

Bolomboy also ranked No. 1 amongst all prospects in the lane agility drill, No. 5 in the three-quarter sprint, and No. 6 in the shuttle run.

For those unfamiliar, said drills measure a player’s lateral quickness, end-to-end speed, and agility. Bolomboy tested better than a vast majority of guards, which suggests he could potentially spot minutes as a small forward, a la Derrick Williams

Bolomboy being able to shoot the 3-ball and switch on the pick-and-roll gives him intriguing 3-and-D potential as a forward in Jeff Hornacek‘s system.
