New York Knicks: Realistic Trade Targets To Consider

The ultimate trade acquisition would be Atlanta Hawks swingman Kyle Korver. He’s an acceptable team defender who may not thrive in isolation, but has proven in Atlanta that he’s willing to commit to the team-wide scheme.
On an expiring contract, the 35-year-old Korver could add a new and necessary element to the New York Knicks’ stalling offense.
Korver has shown the ability to start at shooting guard on a winning team; see: the Atlanta Hawks winning 108 games over the past two seasons. He’s also an ideal option to play the role of a sixth man.
Regardless of how he’d be utilized, Korver is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history, and that absolutely has a place in Jeff Hornacek’s offense.
The issue with targeting Korver is that the Knicks don’t have very much to offer in return. Jose Calderon’s expiring contract and Kyle O’Quinn‘s defensive potential are intriguing, and cash and a future draft pick always help, but this may cost Jerian Grant.
Giving up Grant for a 35-year-old player would be tough to stomach, even if that 35-year-old is an elite 3-point shooter.
