Free agent forward Jared Dudley is one of the most underrated players in the NBA. He’s an excellent 3-point shooter who competes defensively and has an outstanding basketball IQ.

Dudley isn’t much of an athlete, but he has the tools to be a glue guy who solidifies the New York Knicks’ efforts on both ends.

Dudley is capable of playing both small forward and power forward, which is a valuable versatility to possess in the modern NBA. He’s also one of the best 3-point shooters in the Association, as evidenced by his career 3-point field goal percentage of 39.9 percent.

In 2015-16, Dudley ranked No. 8 in the NBA in 3-point field goal percentage at 42.0 percent.

On the opposite end, the 2015-16 Washington Wizards posted a defensive rating of 103.0 with Dudley on the court and 104.2 without him. The 2014-15 Milwaukee Bucks had a defensive rating of 96.8 with Dudley and 101.1 without him.

So long as Dudley builds a solid relationship with Carmelo Anthony, he could be a solid addition to round out the top of the Knicks’ rotation.
