One of the absolute best shooters in the world is a deep sleeper on the free agent market. A restricted free agent who may end up right back with the Charlotte Hornets, Troy Daniels is a true marksman.
The rest of his game is a work in progress, but Daniels could be an invaluable member of the New York Knicks’ rotation.
Daniels converted an obscene 48.4 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc. Despite playing just 11.1 minutes per game, Daniels made an average of 1.4 3-point field goals.
By comparison, Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 1.5 3-point field goals made per game in 35.1 minutes of action.
Daniels is an ideal player to bring in on a low-cost deal for 15-to-20 minutes of quality defense and 3-point shooting. It was accumulated in a limited sample size, but it’s worth noting that he posted a defensive field goal percentage of 36.2 percent.
As the Knicks look for options to solidify the perimeter, Daniels is as intriguing as any.
