What would the pros and cons be of the New York Knicks signing unrestricted free agent point guard Mike Conley?

The summer of 2016 projects to be one of the most profitable in NBA history. Players are about to cash in on an unprecedented rise in the salary cap, with an expected jump from just over $70 million to more than $90 million.

Few players stand to benefit more than unrestricted free agent point guard Mike Conley.

One could make a compelling case that Conley is the best point guard on the open market. The race for said title is between he and Rajon Rondo, which implies that both could receive massive contracts during the summer of 2016.

According to Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News, Conley is open to the idea of signing with the Knicks.

That opens the door for what could be a delightful signing.

There are no shortage of reasons to like Conley as a player; that much is clear. There are also reasons to be concerned, however, and that’s called the Knicks’ pursuit of the 28-year-old into question.

The question is, should the Knicks pursue Conley during the upcoming period of free agency?
