New York Knicks: 5 Areas For Kristaps Porzingis To Improve
3. Post Play
One of the most intriguing aspects of Kristaps Porzingis’ offensive arsenal is his diverse post game. He’s not yet a reliable post scorer, but has a strong arsenal of moves that he should be able to turn into something consistent.
During the summer of 2016, Porzingis must continue to polish his post play.
Many downplay the value of being able to score from the post, but teams that can do so tend to win in the playoffs. Porzingis is a versatile player offensively, but his back-to-the-basket attack can be the glue to his game.
When his jump shot isn’t falling and he’s struggling to create penetration, playing from the low block can help him maintain his offensive value.
Porzingis broke out a number of intriguing moves as a rookie. He hit a number of players with the Dream Shake, flashed a solid jump hook, and possesses the foundation for a lethal turnaround out of the mid-post.
If Porzingis can develop a signature move, and polish the skills that are clearly in existence, he could make an immediate jump to contributing roughly 20 points per game.
