The second round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs began on Saturday, April 30 when the San Antonio Spurs obliterated the Oklahoma City Thunder 124-92. It was a shining example of how dominant the Spurs can be when clicking, and how different an animal the postseason truly is.

One can’t help but believe that the New York Knicks would be a better team for finding players who are made to excel on such a stage.

The full bracket for Round 2 wasn’t set until Sunday, May 1, when the Miami Heat and Toronto Raptors closed out their respective opponents in a pair of Game 7 clashes. Now that the field has been cut from 16 to eight teams, however, the time for in-depth evaluation has commenced.

More specifically, it’s time for Phil Jackson to keep a close eye on a number of rational free agency options.

Some players are proven performers who built their respective reputations during the regular season, and improved upon it in the playoffs. Others have either overachieved or underwhelmed in the postseason.

The question is, who should the Knicks be most closely monitoring?
