David Blatt recently received an interview with the New York Knicks. What would the pros and cons be of his becoming the team’s next head coach?
As the New York Knicks search for a new head coach, the candidate pool is becoming more barren by the day. The Minnesota Timberwolves hired Tom Thibodeau to be the team’s head coach and president of basketball operations, and Luke Walton accepted an offer to become the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Throw in Kenny Atkinson being hired by the Brooklyn Nets, and the list of options is dwindling for the Knicks.
True as that may be, one of the most intriguing remaining names on the coaching market is still available. He’s been linked to the Knicks on multiple occasions, and recently received an interview from team president Phil Jackson.
That man is former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach David Blatt.
Jackson interviewed Blatt on Monday, April 25, which is reason to believe that he’s a genuine candidate in the eyes of the front office. There’s no telling whether or not he’ll be hired, but this could be a step in such a direction.
The question is, what are the pros and cons of potentially hiring Blatt to be the next head coach of the Knicks?
