New York Knicks: D-League Players Worth Evaluating

Along with Jarnell Stokes, wing defender DeAndre Liggins helped the Sioux Falls Skyforce win the 2016 NBA D-League Championship. He stepped up in clutch situations, helped set the table as a facilitator, and further displayed his value as a 3-and-D asset.
For a Knicks team in need of shooters, defenders, and facilitators, Liggins is a solid option for who to hand the 15th and final roster spot to.
Liggans converted at a clip of 43.4 percent from beyond the arc, which comes on a healthy sample size of 1.8 3-point field goals made per game. He also averaged 7.0 assists and 2.1 steals per game, which coincide with his value.
A two-time NBA D-League Defensive Player of the Year, Liggins has the skill set to be a 3-and-D player who can facilitate.
The red flags exist for Liggins, and they must be acknowledged. He had off-the-court issues earlier in his career, battled a plantar fascia injury in January of 2016, was dreadful as a scorer from within the 3-point line, and committed 4.4 turnovers per game.
If the Knicks limit Liggins’ usage to his 3-and-D specialties, however, he could potentially be a valuable asset coming off of the bench.
