1. Terrence Jones, RFA

2015-16 Team: Houston Rockets
Age: 24
Slash Line: .452/.316/.664
Season Averages: 20.9 MPG, 8.7 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 1.2 ORPG, 0.8 APG, 0.8 BPG

In an ideal world, the New York Knicks would land Terrence Jones and make him the future at power forward. In said scenario, Kristaps Porzingis would make the long-term move to the 5 and give New York its interior tandem of the future.

Let’s be optimistic and hypothesize that Jones won’t be starting for an NBA team in 2015-16.

After turning heads in 2013-14, Jones has been buried by injuries and James Harden‘s ball-dominant tendencies in the two seasons that followed. That’s the best hope for the Knicks signing Jones in 2016, as many are interested in his services, but most may refrain from paying him like a start.

The availability of other star-caliber big men in free agency should drive Jones’ market price down, as well.

In terms of his raw skills, Jones can do just about everything offensively; that includes handling the ball, facilitating, going to the post, and spacing the floor. He needs to polish those skills, but that’s more about coaching and commitment than anything else.

Jones has the potential to start one day, but if New York is lucky, it will sign him to be the Lamar Odom to Kristaps Porzingis and Robin Lopez’s Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum.
