Mirza Teletovic came to the NBA with a reasonable amount of fanfare. The former Brooklyn Nets forward was a star in Europe, but never truly lived up to his potential as an impact player until he joined forces from the Phoenix Suns.

Teletovic is far from the most complete player in the NBA, but he’ll provide something similar to what Ryan Anderson offers for a significantly lower cost.

Teletovic is an outstanding shooter. The 6’9″ power forward converted 181 3-point field goals on 39.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc in 2015-16, which follows his making a 136 on 39.0 percent shooting in 2014-15.

2013-14 was a bit of an anomaly due to his health, but Teletovic still managed to sink 62 in 40 games.

165 of Teletovic’s 181 3-point field goals made in 2015-16 came from above the break. Based on Porzingis making 73 of his 81 3-point field goals from above the break, the numbers suggest Teletovic is an excellent stylistic match in New York.

Teletovic doesn’t offer much beyond his shooting, but he’s an outstanding shooter who can post up smaller players—a combination of skills that make him an ideal target for the Knicks.
