Coming out of college, Bradley Beal was compared to one of the greatest shooters in NBA history: Ray Allen. There have been times during his four-year career that he’s showcased the ability said supporters were referring to, but injuries have greatly limited his exposure.

Those injuries, as well as his restricted free agency, could prove to be the ultimate hurdles in New York’s pursuit of the 22-year-old sharpshooter.

Beal has missed at least 19 games in three of his four NBA seasons, including the 27 he was absent for in 2015-16. When on the court, however, he’s one of the most dangerous young shooting guards in the NBA as a lethal shooter who can create offense in the halfcourt.

Beal is also a lethal postseason performer who has helped the Wizards make two trips to the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Through 21 postseason games played, Beal is averaging 21.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 2.1 3-point field goals made. He’s taken over multiple series as a scorer, dominating his matchup with Jimmy Butler and the Chicago Bulls in 2014, and averaging 25.2 points against the Atlanta Hawks in 2015.

If New York were somehow able to sign Beal, they’d have a second future face of the franchise to pair with Kristaps Porzingis.
